Discuss here: Episode 8.10 - Lexie the Second

No, that's not really the ep's title. But that's what Julia, Mark's girlfriend, is - a second Lexie. Which brings me to the funniest moment of the ep: Lexie (about Julia): "Damn. Now I like her." <-- LOLUnfortunately, afterwards shit hit the fan. The daughter making the decision to take her father off life-support, just after she had to watch her grandmother and mother die... Holy eff, was that harsh. And of course, Christina informing Teddy about Henry: Teddy: "I need you... I ned you to say it." Christina: "Henry is dead." *silence* ^^ that moment of silence. That was... perfect. An odd thing to say about such a situation, but from a storytelling perspective, it's... perfect. The best Buffy ep is the one where, aside from the opening theme, there is not one tone of ambient music. Not a tone. Because when you're hit with the hard reality that a loved one has passed, there is no music. There's just the revelation. So yeah, that moment of silence... perfect. I knew it!! I knew it!! When the doorbell rang, I knew who's at the door!! A nice surprise, I must say. Do you find this valuable?

I definitely agree about the funniest moment on this episode, if there ever was one, in the middle of such sadness and drama. Zola's arrival in the end was paradigmatic and symbolic as a counter-weight and as the beginning of a new life after so much death. And are supposed to like Julia now too? I was kind of surprised to see how nervous she was after that procedure, but it worked to make her a little more "human" and even get Lexie to sympathize with her. Worked miracles. I still say Slexie will prevail in the end, though and there won't be much of a future for Lexie the Second. ;) I have to say that Teddy took the news about Henry in a very collected manner in the end, even though we'll still have to see if she will still lash out on someone next week for not telling her sooner. Christina was very in-character when she spilled the news indeed. That scene was well done, and I have to say I support Owen's and Webber's decision on not telling Teddy right away, as it was the right thing to do to save the life of the patient still on the table, even though this can be a debatable issue... "1) And are supposed to like Julia now too?1) That's a very good question. I like Lexie, and I'd say I like Julia too. Of course the diehard Slexie folks won't like her no matter what. And considering Mark found himself another Lexie, it's quite clear who he actually wants, so who knows how long Julia will last, probably not very long. 2) Yep, I support Owen and Webber too. Webber was fully right, there was no good way to do this. It was a shitty situation, and putting the still living patient at top priority was the least shitty thing to do. Seems like it's just like you predicted, Gusar: it's basically just you and me around here, on the forum. With this I'm not forgetting SmileyGlen and the countless and valuable page edits she has done in the past few months. I was merely referring to the discussion forum. With things as they are here, I'm starting to doubt the actual real purpose and use of these "official" threads for each specific episode... I don't know... Maybe people could just make random threads about whatever happens on the show, little as they are... Anyways, a new episode has aired already, right? I'll probably see it sometime in the next couple of days. This is still definitely one of the shows I have the most fun with right now and one of those I most look forward to watch every week. How about a thread for ep discussion - for all ep discussion that is. And then separate threads for non-ep specific discussions (if there'll be any of that, with only the two of us here...) 2) You're in for a doozy... Webber being a total sneaky bastard toward Alex, and a hilarious scene with Bailey, Ben and Meredith. Do you find this valuable? |

We already have the specific episode threads and possible other random threads, all little as they are and basically with just you and me... I didn't really understand what changes you were trying to suggest exactly.... 2) You got me drooling even more already! LOL Downloading it right now, but then I will still have to get decent subtitles. Too lazy not to. Do you find this valuable? |

"1) I didn't really understand what changes you were trying to suggest exactly....1) Err, I thought it's quite clear: Instead of having a separate thread for each ep, we'd have a single thread for all eps. 2) Haha. You'll like it. Those three (Bailey, Ben, Meredith) have a whole subplot in the ep, so it's quite a few scenes, but there's one scene in particular I was really laughing my ass off. "Err, I thought it's quite clear: Instead of having a separate thread for each ep, we'd have a single thread for all eps."Oh, I get it now. A single thread for all the episodes to come, at least season by season, all mixed together... Yeah... That could work... We kind of have that already on the Dexter wiki, and there are way more members and comments there. I think you weren't as clear before as you were now, but now I get it. Do you find this valuable? |
