Thatcher Grey, Meredith and Lexie's father, returns to Seattle Grace with stomach pains and a new, twenty-something tattooed girlfriend, Danielle. Meanwhile, Alex clashes with the new OB, Dr. Lucy Fields, over a patient and Mark places Jackson on his service in exchange for information on Lexie.

I can't believe this thread hadn't been created already, as the episode has aired for days now.

I know! Since I watched it on Friday I came looking for it here but found nothing.... Anyway below is my opinion:

I loved this episode! I loved all of them but still... Callie's obsession with coffee was so funny Arizona just had to look at her and she felt guilty. The goo at the beginning of the episode was so hilarious: "I don't drink chunks. I want my coffee." And when she told April to get her a muffin and some coffee and she kept on changing her mind about the coffee :P The studies she read about coffee and how they proved there was no harm, and then she tells Arizona she isn't a rat :P
Or her reaction to April's voice:

Callie: Kepner, I need you to speak differently.
April: I'm sorry.
Callie: It's your voice. It's a little um—just speak differently.
April: Like with an accent?

Meredith's reaction to Thatcher being there: "Of course, he's rejecting it because it's my liver." But I think she was partially right when she told Lexie to grow up, because she did have a point. But still, she could have cared more, like she did with Susan, except she was of a good age for Thatcher, not like that twenty-something-tattoo-of-a-wh*re-on-her-arm-alcoholic. She seemed sweet and she seemed to care about Thatcher, but there should be limits! And what Cristina said:

Cristina: There's no way she's twenty. She's gotta be like 26, 27.
Lexie: I'm 27.
Cristina: Oh. Gross.

I'm not finished.....

And Lexie... she was so funny this episode and I would have been just like her, yelling at the woman to get out of her way. She's like 30! And she just barged in and kissed him which I thought was so bad considering Lexie was right there.... I loved it when she started yelling at her father's girlfriend and said: "You're not his family! You're his midlife crisis!". Or when Bailey comes in and she says: "It's my father's girlfriend whom I've just met just now." And when she goes out of the room because the girlfriend starts talking about how she was on top :P

Avery was great in this episode, listening to her, offering her advice. I really hope nothing goes on between them. Come on SLEXIE!!! Avery would look cute with her, and he didn't tell Mark which was sweet but I still don't think they should be together....

You can really see how much Mark really cares about Lexie when he is talking to Avery: "Peanut butter cups. She's a stress eater. You get her eating, you get her talking. She loves peanut butter cups."

And Meredith's clinical trials - I knew she was going to pick Alzheimer's. I don't know why.... I just knew.... When she got home and told Derek she picked him I was like awwwwww :)

These character limits.....

Again with Lexie....
When she was telling Avery about how she missed Mark I just felt like punching him for getting Callie pregnant. He hasn't even tried to talk to her, and is telling Avery to do the 'dirty work'. He should just man up and go talk to her and try to figure out a solution. She has every reason to be sad. Arizona, Callie and Mark are all happy with their new family and the green goo they are givving to Callie. None of them are thinking of Lexie except for MArk but again, HE shoudl be the one talking to her and comforting her.... It wouldn't surprise me is Lexie and Avery started something because MArk was too busy with his McBaby.... And Avery, once again, he agreed to do it in the first place, he agreed to mess with her personal life!! AAt the end he was sweet but I still want Slexie to work.

"I can't believe this thread hadn't been created already, as the episode has aired for days now."
It seems Wild-Kat's duties at Wetpaint don't involve taking care of this wiki at all anymore.

Anyway, I can only agree with SuperJ1997, brilliant ep. Not that many one-liners, but on the whole many funny scenes, more humor than usual. My quick impressions:

Bailey: "I need someone who speaks Grey." AAAAAAAA!!

Wow, Callie's OB/GYN is hardcore!

Danny (to Lexie): "Actually, you might not want to hear that part."
Lexie: "I'm a doctor."
Danny: "Alright. Well, we were being intimate... and I was on top..."
(Lexie leaves the room)

^ Hey, Danny did warn her! LOL

Callie: "Kepner, I need you to speak differently." <-- Haha, April's perkiness too much for Callie. Lesson of the day: If a woman wants caffeine... You give her caffeine! :)

Lexie: "Mark, no! My day is too messed up to have you in it too." <-- Ouch!
Though Mark sure has Lexie figured out (feeding her peanutbutter cups to get her talking... worked like a charm :) ). But hey, he loves her. And she loves him. God, I'm breaking the main rule again - don't get invested in relationships!

Karev in a gist: Arizona: "He's harsh sometimes. But he's also the guy that gets thrown off a case and then sits in the gallery and watches an entire surgery just to make sure his patient is okay."

Callie: "Now, anyone wanna argue with my extra special vagina vote?" <- I sooooooooooo love Callie!

Amen to this entire post!!

However, it's not as easy as Mark just walking up to her and they'll talk. No, it'll take some time. Hopefully Mark will stay persistent and will succeed in again showing her how much he loves her. It'll be tough though. Lexie is clearly not ready yet to have children.

Alex's nickname was not nice but he has done worse (like that really fat guy where his wife was pregnant and he made him the hamburger and her the french fry)... And he is a nice guy, just like Arizona is telling Lucy at the end. He did go to the gallery and she did care, even with the terrible nicknames, he deserved to be in that surgery, no matter what Lucy thought.

I thought exactly the same thing (ouch!) when Lexie said that to Mark. He was just trying to help and I understand she seems like she needs space but then she complains no one asks her. He did. Or at least he tried. And he better continue trying because I don't want Avery and Lexie to be a thing. She needs space but she needs somebody to care, and he should be that guy.

I loved the speech Callie gave, the baby vote, her vote and the vagina vote :P She definitely needed coffee. But she could have listened to the two doctors in the room.

And that stupid kid that there himself against a wall and was really scared when they were going to reset his hip, I think I saw a tear or two threatening to get out. He was such an idiot. And I was kinda touched when Owen said the man he saw saved 6 men from a grenade by taking it for them.

Bailey = MAJOR LOL!!! I laughed loads! And then Lexie gets there and she's like: "I didn't even know there was a you to meet." :P

Oh, but she is! She would never leave without telling me! She has in fact been absent in the past few days, that's all.. I do hope all is alright with her! Missing the creation of this thread in time got me a but worried, though...

Anyway, I'm glad you guys still found use for this thread! Better late than never!
I love to see SuperJ's passion about this stuff! And FifthKazeKageForever as well! Major fangirls! LOL

I had major fun as well, as you guys said. Thatcher's girlfriend wasn't all that bad as Lexie put her... Think we'll ever see her again?

The vagina vote line was probably the best of this episode indeed! xD

And the whole thing with Alex was still unfair. That ob-gyn lady is total badass! Hasn't she ever mentioned a braindead patient as a "turnip" or something? I thought they needed that sort of stuff to disconnect a little bit... But they will both be a thing soon enough, yeah. Maybe next week already, who knows.

1) But of course, so we'll be able to see Lexie's disgust when they announce their engagement! :))
Ok, I'm kinda kidding. Though I wouldn't mind seeing her again. It is maybe kinda weird, her being the same age as Lexie. But on the other hand, they bonded over the AA thing and they do genuinely look out for each other.

2) You think? She wasn't responding well to his flirt attempts even before he mentioned the turnip. Which was quite funny, I must say :)

2) She started getting very much into Alex looking all interested at him after she saw how much he still cared for his patient, he still watched the surgery in the gallery, and then as he was watching the baby and the parents in the end. And they both cheered the same way after the surgery. Plus, having them both in the elevator in the end of the episode is a classic.
So, if Shonda is at all consistent, yeah, those two will be an item. The ob-gyn doctor is just playing a little hard to get right now, as they have just met. Trust me.

Ah, the elevator... so many things that have happened in it, it's like it has some sot of magic for character relationships....

Something might happen between Lucy and Alex, it seems like it loads... Her expression at the end softened as she looked at Alex with the baby's parents. He was sweet and she knows it. And at the end he said he was sorry for her patient, which was really nice of him :) He might be a jerk sometimes, but he is a great guy. I loved how they were really happy when the surgery ended successfully! I hope something starts between him and her :)

But no, Thatcher can't marry that woman, PLEASE. They bonded over AA, but she is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too young for him :/ And I would hate seeing Lexie even worse than she is now... Poor her :(

1) Ah yes, *the elevator*! :) I did actually make a mental note of that while watching. :)

2) Again, amen. Lexie is really hurting right now. Yesterday, I watched like ten times the scene where she's talking to Jackson. "He just clobbered me with it. Again. And he's leaving me behind. *Again*" <-- the way she says that second "again"... yeah...

However, I don't think the "tatted-up skank" :)) is necessarily bad for Lexie. Lexie did tell her "Will you please jut make sure he calls me?", and she agreed. So Danny could actually make sure that Lexie and Thatcher grow closer again.

Yeah, after seven seasons of Grey's you start to get most trends and predict stuff. It's totally a given that Lucy and Alex will hook up if Shonda is at all consistent with what she has done so far. I don't know how long they will last, though, but that's another story. Relationships come and go in cycles on this show, except for MerDer, that is. And I'm sure you guys hope for Calzona and Slexie as "forevers" now as well, I know, I know... Personally, I do too, specially for Slexie.

About Thatcher, truth is that, despite the age difference and the fact that Danielle is Lexie's age (and actually younger than Meredith), I felt it was right. That's what they were trying to convey. Seems like they had a true connection there... Lexie admitted herself that she was being the real b****, after Meredith told her she had to grow up and accept it.
