Episode 7.08 Something's Gotta Give - Talk about it!
Nov 10 2010, 2:41 PM EST | Post edited: Nov 10 2010, 2:41 PM EST
Top security measures go into place as a team of doctors, led by the Chief, try to save the life of a major political figure from the Middle East. Meanwhile Cristina decides to finally decorate her new place and throw a housewarming party, and Alex shows up late from a weekend getaway to his first day of rounds with the new Pediatrics Attending, Dr. Phil Stark. Talk about it here! Do you find this valuable?

Personally, I'm really curious to see this new pediatrics doctor Phil Stark, played by Peter MacNicol. It's always interesting to see someone new. Specially whey they're (apparently) saying Jessica Capshaw will be returning in just a couple of episodes...
Do you think Phil Stark will stay on the show after that? If he is to leave after such a small period of time, then something really bad or strange must happen to or with him...
Like I said, curious...

Ok, just seen it, so :

*** Potential SPOILERS ***

Like I was expecting, we can all see now why Dr. Phil Stark isn't gonna last long. The guy is arrogant and sleazy, I'd say. Do bring back our dearest Arizona! Fast!

Yang remains autistic to the job stuff entirely. It's getting pretty lolworthy by now, but in a rather bad way... Good scene with Derek at the rooftops in the end, though.

I felt the subplot with the VIP African king or president or whatever was a little underwhelming and underused... I understand there is only so much we can do in a 43 minute episode, but still... Pretty standard here.

About Bailey and Avery, still another loss... Too bad... Seems like they will get a new quest and task to find out more about those pancreas and fistula conditions and maybe their big win will come from there. I've been saying Bailey needs something good to happen to her fast. Poor woman!

And finally Karev... We've seen the best and the worst again... Did they mean to imply the guy could be schizophrenic like the rest of his family? I kind of think they did, and maybe that could explain a lot...

How did they hint that Jessica Capshaw would be back in a couple of episodes? I loved her and was saw to see her go. Do you find this valuable?

They didn't hint that at the actual show's content. In fact, in show they said that Arizona would be in Africa for three whole years...
There is just some gossip going around that Jessica Capshaw is back at work already by now, so Arizona should be returning real soon. They should be kicking this new doctor Stark really bad and fast!

Hmm, not much to say... Good episode with quite a few LOL moments... but nothing really stood out. Oh, except April. Poor April. And kudos to the writers, for actually making me care about April. Though I'm thinking... I can't fault Alex for his reaction. Not really. After such a crap day, he needed to relax, he totally didn't need drama with sex too. And he did immediately want to apologize. Too bad Jackson had a crap day too.

And man, Bailey still can't catch a break.

Ok, two funny quotes, though as I said, there were quite some:

Callie: "Look at my hair!"
Christina: "Yeah... I sorta can't believe you let me do that."
Callie: "Christina!!"
Christina: "It's ok, we'll go to the mall... you might want a hat."

Mark: "Welcome. Wine's on the table, beer's in the fridge."
Owen: "There's a fridge?"

1) Hell yeah!! He started out ok, but then... what an ass. Well, at least Webber knows who the real hero of the day was.

2) That was nice, yeah. Get away from the drama, and talk about what really matters... floor wood and bathroom tiles :)

3) Hmm, I didn't have that impression. I think it was just used to explain his freakout with April.

Well, okay... Maybe I'm reading too much into this... Still, we've all been saying here how "bipolar" Karev seems to be sometimes... One moment he is a great thoughtful guy, the next he acts like a total jerk, specially around the women he hooks up with. He's been really nasty specially with Izzie, Lexie and now April.

So, after the ending we've seen from him this week, I still think it's a least legitimate to consider the possibility that they may be implying that Karev may have some mental condition of sorts, wouldn't you say?

I wouldn't doubt it if they pin a mental disorder on him. I felt so bad for April though on this episode. It wasn't until the trauma training episode that I actually started liking her.

The funniest part of the episode was when Cristina just walks up and snips Callie's hair off. Oh. I couldn't stop laughing for anything.

Yeah, they made April a much more sympathetic and worthy character, specially because now she really wants to be a surgeon instead of just the chief's assistant. I never thought she would last on the show at first, but now we all like her too. Is she about to become a new form of Lexie as the sympathetic all round good girl we all root for? I was right there with Avery when he smacked Alex big time! Hehehe...

About Callie's hair, I never thought I'd say this, but I think it actually looks better now, so Yang did her a favor! LOL

Haha. I loooove Callie's new hair. It looks awesome on her, especially with the blue streaks.

And yeah. April is definitely the new Lexie. Both of them started off getting used by Alex. Same old story

And yet we rather strangely still root for Alex, don't we? The guy has such a dual nature that whenever he acts like a great guy, we forget how stupid and nasty he was on so many other times and hope he will stay "good" forever. Won't happen, will it? Hehehe...

Sweet!
Hadn't we heard about a CIA kind of guy or something? That's what the casting call said, wasn't it? They're saying it's a new nurse now, as a recurring role. Whatever! Go, Bailey!

Haha. Yep. I always root for Alex. Somewhere deep down he is a good guy. He just chooses to show his jerk side. Do you find this valuable?
