Seattle Grace: On Call a Webisode Update
n case you forgot to tune in online to the Grey's Anatomy webisodes, I thought I'd catch you up on what's been happening and who's making a guest appearance.
Seattle Grace: On Call is a series of documentary-style webisodes on ABC.com that delves into the lives of some of the lesser-known characters at the hospital especially the new interns of Seattle Grace. Megan, the intern who was fired during the merger, takes center stage in the series, as she attempts to figure out whether ex-boyfriend Pierce or new hubby Steve got her pregnant. "The paternity test doesn't quite go the way I think it's going to," Kidder says. "It goes the opposite of how I expect it and that's the risk."
So who's making a guest appearance, well in the final episode of the Web series, which airs Jan. 21, a brawl ensues. Steve just may get his vengeance on Pierce, who mangled his hand last season in a fight over Megan. "You will find some revenge," Saul tells us of the fight. "You'll be surprised. Someone will get knocked down."
This is when Dr. Owen Hunt saves the day. A shocking development in Owen's relationship will drive him to Joe's to blow off some steam. When the throwdown between house band members — and Seattle Grace interns — Steve and Pierce, leaves the bar music-less, Owen steps in to entertain the masses. Yes, he sings!
Meanwhile, another love triangle has formed in the Web series. On Grey's, Charles has a thing for Reed, who is developing feelings for Alex (Justin Chambers). Add On Call's Ryan to that mix, as he's now in the running for Reed's heart as well.
Though the final webisode resolves the triangle, Reed's feelings for Alex, who is still married to Izzie, remain complicated.
Have you been tuning into the webisodes?

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: More Romantic Comedies for Katherine Heigl Planne
There are three places where you can find Katherine Heigl -- first, there's the set of Grey's Anatomy (which hasn't actually been the case lately), second there's her crusade to save abandoned puppies, and lastly, if you can't find her in either one of those places, she's usually on the set of yet another modern day When-Harry-Met-Sally type of big screen romantic flick.
In fact, the latest rumor, according to MovieReview.com, is that Katherine may appear in two more of these chick flicks, including a remake of Overboard, which originally starred Goldie Hawn, and Romancing the Stone, originally featuring with Kathleen Turner.
So far, Katherine has been absolutely charming in every one of these chick flicks, and for me she's like a stamp of approval for any movie -- if she's in it, I know I'll like it (despite the fact that I found it a little unbelievable that she'd need any help hooking a guy, as they tried to make us believe in The Ugly Truth).
What about you? Are you a sucker for Katherine Heigl chick flicks as well?

GA Mystery: Who is Alex's Mistress?
Oh, Alex Karev. If your wife wasn’t such a pain this season, I’d be really angry that you have a one-night stand in the first post-hiatus episode of Grey’s Anatomy, which also happens to be the first part of the show’s crossover with Private Practice. But who does Alex get busy with in the Jan. 14 episode?
We narrowed down the possible suspects to the following six women.
Reed (odds: 1-5): It makes sense that Karev would choose to work through his pain with the brash Mercy West-er, who has been undressing Alex with her eyes for weeks. But if Chambers’ claim (that the other woman’s identity will cause our heads to spin) proves true, it won’t be Reed. And if it is, Chambers hasn’t been watching his show very closely this season. Lexie (odds: 1-2): They had a brief tryst in the past, so it stands to reason that Alex might once again play doctor with ‘lil Grey. And from Lexie’s perspective, what better distraction from all the McDaughter drama than another roll in the hay with a former Calvin Klein model?
Addison (odds: 3-1): It also wouldn’t be the first time Karev visited Le Bed Montgomery, but — as previously reported — Addison will have her hands full helping out Mark. And girlfriend has only so many hands. Cristina (odds: 9-2): Should Hunt get busy with ex-love Teddy, Cristina might be out for a little revenge of her own. But why would she pick Alex when she’s already got another MD (i.e. Dr. Avery) ready, more than willing, and (we’re just assuming here) extremely able?
Meredith (odds: 7:1): Shonda Rhimes has said that Der-Mer’s upcoming troubles would be work-related, not personal. And we’re going to take her at her word. Miranda (odds 15-1): Grey’s writers have been anything but subtle about Miranda’s rocky personal life. And Chambers did say the choice would shock people. Well, this would shock me!
Who do you think Karev will share a supply closet with when Grey’s returns?

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Patrick Dempsey in a Bottle
The hair-licious actor who plays Derek Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy has a new cologne due to hit the fragrance counters soon, one aptly named "Patrick Dempsey 2." By the name of this fragrance, I'm expected Eau d' Patrick, which despite his good looks, isn't necessarily something I want to smell, particularly a "bolder, more intense" version.
Perhaps Avon could've gone a more traditional route, perhaps something more like "Dreams, by Patrick Dempsey?" Otherwise, what can we expect next? Hulk Hogan IX?
In case you're wondering, you'll need to lay down thirty bucks for a two and a half ounce bottle of ol' Patrick.

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Alex talks Izzie
In a recent TV Guide interview, actor Justin Chambers gives the scoop on what we can expect from Alex and Izzie when the show returns, which you've probably guessed isn't likely to be all hearts and teddy bears.
Of course, what would you expect from long-time self-centric Alex, who bent just a little to let flighty Izzie into his heart and mind. As Chambers says, "Alex is just fed up. He's not built for all of this. He really meant what he said when he committed to her at their wedding and now he just feels that it's all rushed too fast and he hasn't really necessarily thought things through. He has so much emotional baggage anyway."
**MICRO-SPOILER**
And so, am many down and out Seattle Gracers do, Alex will find himself at Joe's bar, the perfect setting for a one night stand. Who will this mysterious one night stand be? We don't know, but Chambers tells us that "fans will be extremely shocked."
Who is your guess?

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Can Cristina and Owen Compare?
According to BuddyTV, executive producer Shonda Rhimes says that we've got "a ton of Owen and Cristina stuff" headed our way in upcoming episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I for one, think this is smart TV. After all, it's the original hit and miss Meredith and Derek relationship with a twist of Addison that really drew fans into Grey's Anatomy, and since the two have been blissfully wed via Post-It note, we've been yearning (or needing, rather) a new all-consuming relationship. (And let's face it -- Cristina is long overdue. That fling with Burke just didn't hold a candle to Meredith and Derek.)
Reportedly, the Grey's Anatomy's writers and Shonda Rhimes are all fans of an Owen and Cristina hookup. Add a shake of cardio goddess to that and I think we've got the makings of the next perfect storm headed toward Seattle Grace.
Your thoughts? Can Cristina-slash-Owen even compare to MerDer aka the stuff legends are made from?

How do you watch Grey's Anatomy? Chances are, like many you watch with your finger poised over the DVR remote control. In recent TV ratings news, Grey's Anatomy once again got the biggest boost in the Nielsen's Live + 7 Day information.

Grey's Anatomy Blog: 31 Candles for Katherine Heigl
Today marks the 31st birthday of Grey's Anatomy superstar Katherine Heigl, who's currently on leave from Grey's Anatomy to spend time with newly adopted daughter Naleigh. In fact, Katherine also celebrated Naleigh's first birthday yesterday -- the mother-daughter duo celebrate birthdays just one day apart!
Aside from playing the cutsy-quirky Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy, Katherine's success has been most notably in a string of romantic comedies including girl favorites Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, and most recently, The Ugly Truth, which collectively makes Katherine Heigl the Meg Ryan of the new generation.
Happy birthday Katherine!

Sara Ramirez (Callie) Sings "Silent Night"
Callie wasn't physically present at the Christmas dinner in "Holidaze," but she was there in spirit, thanks to Sara Ramirez's a capella rendition of "Silent Night" that played during a tense scene.
Belting out the tunes is nothing new for Ramirez -- she got her start on the stage and starred in Broadway in "Spamalot," for which she won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. She's also appeared in "Dreamgirls," "A Class Act," "The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm," and other productions.

ABC.com Launches Grey's Anatomy Webisodes
Sad about no more new episodes of Grey's Anatomy until after the holidays? Well don't be, ABC.com is launching webisodes to help you with your Grey's fix. One catch - and I find it awesome - is that the shows will feature the minor characters we don't get to see as much every week. The shows are set primarily in Joe's Emerald City Bar, the popular hangout spot for the doctors after work. Seattle Grace: On Call is shot like a documentary, following the trials of many of the familiar faces featured on the ABC medical drama.
Joe the BartenderIt stars Steven Bailey as Joe the Bartender, Mark Saul as Intern Steve, Molly Kidder as Intern Megan, Joseph Williamson as Intern Pierce, Gloria Garayua as Intern Graciella, Brandon Scott as Intern Ryan, Nora Zehtener as Reed Adamson, and Robert Baker as Charles Denman.
After last night, the next Seattle Grace: On Call will air on December 3, with a new one every week after that, except December 24, 31, and January 7. The webisodes will resume on January 14. A special Behind The Scenes Extras and Making of "Seattle Grace: On Call" will air January 27.
"We hope our fans will enjoy a new take on the familiar Grey's Anatomy world," says executive producer Shonda Rhimes, "which will appear exclusively on our website during the time our actual episodes repeat, from November through January."
Seattle Grace: On Call is a six-part webisode series, each four to five minutes long. The first one airs tonight after our last Grey's episode of the year.

In addition to Dane, the film cast Christina Aguilera, Cher and vampire bad boy Cam Gigandet. The "Grey's Anatomy" star plays a successful business man who attempts to buy out a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club owned by Cher's character and where Aguilera's character, a small town girl with a big voice, performs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He also seeks to romance Aguilera in the process.

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Kevin McKidd talks threesome
So it seems that fans are sounding off on Kim Raver's new character, Teddy Altman aka "Desert Storm Barbie", and so far most don't want to see the Teddy rock the boat for Cristina and Owen.
In an E Online interview, actor Kevin McKidd who plays Owen Hunt gives us some deets on the new triangle:
* Sandra, Kevin and Kim "have a great respect for each other. And that adds a really interesting dynamic to the triangle..." * What's in store for the threesome, "It's going to get much hotter and complicated...because it is such an adult problem that they have....People are hopefully going to be very, very torn and very involved and kind of sucked into it."
Hear that fans? Prepared to be sucked in!

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Who's the best cardio-diva for Owen?
In New History, cardio goddess Teddy Altman, played by Kim Raver of 24 and Lipstick Jungle fame joins the staff of Seattle Grace. Though she has just one episode under her belt, Teddy's cario surgical expertise won over even the harshest of critics (who else but Cristina) and at the same time Teddy threw her birdie surgical cap into the ring whole-HEARTedly for Owen Hunt, leaving him clearly confused and in an emotional dilemma.
Will it be sweet, intrinsically complex, long-time comrade in arms Teddy Altman, or bright, shiny, tough-as-nails- and-just-as-sharp, Cristina Yang?
Cast your vote and tell us which cardio diva do you think is right for Owen Hunt?

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Holidaze brings McSteamy's daughter home?
E! Online reports that the November 19th episode of Grey's Anatomy, Holidaze, features Leven Rambin, who Terminator fans know as Riley from The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Reportedly, "Mark and Lexie must cope with the shocking arrival of a woman from the past." Best guess to date is that Rambin plays the infamous McSteamy's daughter.
Are there any other guesses out there? E! online speculates that Rambin could also be Izzie's long lost daughter.

GREY'S ANATOMY BLOG: Chandra Wilson's New Role
Were you disappointed to see that Bailey's part in the latest Grey's Anatomy episode, "Give Peace a Chance," was a little thin? Really, she only had one scene of any signifcance, with Derek.
Her role was likely written smaller than usual because she was behind the camera for this episode, in her directorial debut. In hindsight, it makes sense that a novice was calling the shots -- the episode focused on only one case, but still it was engrossing and well paced. Nice work, Chandra!
