Season 1
  • Welcomes the new interns to Seattle Grace and there 7 years that they will be there.
  • Recognise'sRecognizes Meredith Grey in the ER, after she answers what is the common causes of post op complications.
  • Tells Meredith she has custody of a penis.
Season 2
  • Helps Meredith with her mother Ellis
  • He puts the interns in charge of pleasing his niece, they have to organise a prom night in the hospital
  • Puts all the interns on probation after, Denny Duquette dies.
Season 3
  • Discovers Adele at the hospital, he follows her into the ladies restroom, he later discovers Adele is having a miscarriage
Season 4
  • Richard helps Meredith put her mother to rest, by washing her ashes out to sea.
  • Richard tells Meredith that they have only 1 more patient in their clinical trial.
Season 5
  • Richard wanting to increase Seattle Grace's ranking, implements new rules and enforcing old ones.
  • Richard tells Meredith, that Derek plans to propose to her.

  • Takes back his hospital during the shooting
Season 7
  • Becomes Chief of Surgery again after Derek quits
  • Helps Alex get over his fear of elevators
  • Asks Meredith to help him with his Diabetes Trial (which she later declines)
  • Gets angry when not informed his wife was brought into the ER.
  • He won't believe there is something seriously wrong with Adele.
Season 8
  • He quits being Chief of Surgery, so he can spend more time with Adele.
