• Kate is often compared to Catherine Deneuve, an actress in French cinema. The resemblence is so strong, that an episode of Grey's Anatomy was written where a patient's husband becomes fascinated with Dr. Addison Montgomery because of the resemblance.

• In the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun," Walsh portrayed the girlfriend of Grey's Anatomy Sandra Oh, who was also in the movie.
