Season 1
Izzie and George met as interns. They became Meredith's roommates. Izzie and George form a very close friendship. George does draw the line at buying girl products.
Season 2
George gets concerned when Izzie falls for Denny Duquette one of her patients.
Season 3
When George married Callie, Izzie had doubts about the marriage. Izzie and George get drunk one night and sleep together.
Season 4
Izzie and George try to make a go of things but every time they try it's like they are both trying too hard. Eventually they decide to be just good friends again.
Season 5
George moves out and shares an apartment with Lexie. Izzie and Alex get back together George escorts Izzie the rest of the way up the altar when Izzie marries Alex. Izzie flatlines after surgery. At the same time a John Doe is brought into the ER. He wakes for a short time to write 007 in the palm of his other best friend Meredith.
Season 6
George dies from his injuries. Izzie wakes to discover her best friend has just died and it's left to her and Callie to donate his organs.
