Relationship Stats

How they met: They met when George fell down the stairs and dislocated his shoulder. Callie is the orthopedic resident who popped it back in place.

How long were they together: They met in season 2 and started to date pretty soon after. After George's dad died, they got married in Vegas. It didn't work too well, and they got divorced in season 4.

They got married in Vegas at the Church of Elvis. George slept with Izzie after a night of drinking. Izzie fell in love with George and their relationship changed after they'd slept together. Izzie admitted to George that she was in love with him; this strained their relationship further as George wanted to honor his commitment to Callie.
Season 4
They got divorced because George was in love with Izzie.
Season 5
Callie and George remain friends When Callie finds out George enlisted, she goes to Bailey and the other residents to organize an intervention.
Season 6
We discover John Doe is George. George was so badly injured from being hit by a bus, that he died from his injuries, everyone was fighting about the fact that John Doe can't be George because he was too tall. Callie being George's ex-wife knew of an unusual birthmark George has on his palm shaped like Texas, she use to tease him about it. Callie goes to the body of John Doe/George picks up the hand with the birthmark and proceeds to cry, we have our confirmation John Doe is in fact George. He died a hero.
