Synopsis
Hookups
Derek tears into Meredith over her perceived relationship with Mark, but this time she gives back as good as she gets with startling results. Likewise trading angry words are Burke and Cristina, while Izzie manages to upset Denny even as she tries to cheer him up. Elsewhere, Callie's sanitary shortcomings cause problems with her temporary roommates; and we learn a bit more about handsome veterinarian Finn. But all these intrigues take second place to a horrible automobile accident caused by an intern suffering from short-term memory loss. In the episode's climactic moment, it appears as though a female crash victim will die, but there's a slim chance that her unborn baby can be saved.






Recap of Events:

A husband, pregnant wife and her parents are involved in a car accident caused by a surgical intern from another hospital, who fell asleep at the wheel. The wife has massive injuries and eventually dies, though Alex performs a Cesarean section to save the baby. Derek is angry at Meredith after he sees her at the veterinarian's. Burke is angry at Cristina after she fell asleep during sex the previous night. George does not stand up for Callie after Izzie and Meredith start telling people she does not wash her hands after she goes to the toilet. Denny is becoming angry at being stuck in bed with no end in sight.
