After a round of lies between Meredith and Cristina about their love lives, the story proper gets under way with Cristina having second thoughts about moving in with Burke, and George threatening to move out of Meredith's house unless she meets his demands. Back at work, the staff deals with such patients as a competitive hot dog eater suffering from what may be a terminal case of hiccups; a rock guitarist who loses several fingers; a woman whose drug treatment makes her abnormally cheerful; and an elderly lady who stubbornly refuses to leave after being discharged. And in another development, Alex gets the results of his board exams.
